The Consult Call

Clients can get in touch with me via the booking link on my home page and on my contact page. This sends them to my Acuity calendar where they can pick a time and date to have a chat about their website goals. Simply book your ‘30-Minute FREE Discovery Call’. Now, not every client that books a discovery call is fully committed at the time. Sometimes it’s more simply a call to get to know me and my process a little better before they make any final decisions. Which is completely and utterly A-Okay!

During this call, I get to learn about the potential client and their business goals and ambitions, their journey and their passions. This is necessary to reflect their unique selves and businesses on their website.

At this point the client can choose to book and then pay a 50% deposit, sign a contract and secure their chosen start date in my project calendar.

Client Tasks

Before I get started on any web design work, the client must first complete a few tasks to help me understand what they are looking for in terms of aesthetics and overall site functionality.

The first of these tasks is creating a Pinterest Board. Though this may seem strange, it is insanely effective. This board will be a collection of pictures that will give me an idea of what the client wants their new website to look like. Although it’s intended for the website, It certainly is not limited to strictly images of other websites. It’s open for the client to choose essentially any picture they feel reflects the look and feel of their business. Mood boards, colour palettes, aesthetically pleasing images of office spaces, the works!

After the Pinterest Board is completed, the Client will complete my Website Design Questionnaire. This is something that I use for every web design client (not just the Two Week Websites!). It’s an incredible resource that I use to understand more about the required functionality of the Client’s website and additional necessary requirements. The questionnaire includes questions on the pages they want, any integrations and other requests they might have in one easy form.

Now, this is a very strict rule - Clients have to upload their website content before the design process can start. This includes copywriting and imagery - both are PIVITOL to creating an effective website. It’s practically impossible to design a website within the two-week parameters without prepared content, which is why I request this before we begin.

If the content is not ready, we will be forced to reschedule the Two Week Website.

Work It!

Time to let the magic flow! On the Monday of Week One, I’ll have a call with the Client so we can go over their Questionnaire and Pinterest Board. Then BOOM! I’ll start building the entire website immediately. This includes all layouts, copy-writing, imagery inserted and ready to go.

On the Friday following, I’ll send the website over to the client and give them the weekend to take a good look, and send me a google doc list of edits by Monday morning. As much as working weekends isn’t ideal, it’s important to complete this step so we have enough time to review and make additional changes in Week Two through Four.

During Week Two and Three I’ll complete the list of edits the Client has given me, as well as putting the final touches on their new home (their beautiful new website!). Once I’ve completed the edits, I’ll send it back over to the Client for approval. We’ll continue this process as many times as possible, up until Thursday evening. I highly recommend setting aside some time this week for the revisions so that all edits are made to your liking. The two-week timeline is very strict.

My Clients ABSOLUTELY love this as it means that being on the ball with feedback, results in as many revision rounds as they want! I’ll be honest, this definitely isn’t an industry standard but it’s something I always stand by offering EVERY single client I have. Most designers will have a set number of revision rounds and begin charging extra for more. I just don’t believe in that during short timelines, frankly, it’s unfair to the Client.

Launch it!

During Week Two I’ll complete the list of edits the Client has given me, as well as putting the final touches on their new identity. Once I’ve completed the edits, I’ll send it back over to the Client for approval. We’ll continue this process as directed, up until Thursday evening. I highly recommend setting aside some time this week for the revisions so that all edits are made to your liking. The two-week timeline is very strict.

My Clients ABSOLUTELY love this as it means that being on the ball with feedback!

On that Friday, we’ll hop on a final call so I can give them the run down and access to their new identity so they feel comfortable rolling it out on their end to their community!

While we’re on the call, they’ll make their final payment and receive the deliverables.

Then it’s time to celebrate! Launching is HUGE and holy what a ride it’s been! Once the Client begins to promote their new identity, I will showcase it on my website and social media channels as well.

  • I pride myself on my one-to-one work with clients. I’m always here when you need me and if there’s a question or two, the Client knows we can hop on a call anytime and get those questions answered ASAP!

  • Custom CSS is included in all my packages and it’s so crucial to an outstanding and unique website! Little design tweaks go a long way in standing out. There’s often design details and functionality that can’t be achieved using basic Squarespace. So I’ll head into the CSS editor and make that website dream into a reality for you.

  • Timelines are also exceptionally important to me and I will always make it my priority to ensure websites are launching right on time. My client’s know that I take timelining seriously, and will do everything in my power to ensure that each project hits their deadline on time.

I know how many external things depend on a timely launch, so once that date is set, I guarantee it’s launch.

  • I really love this, and so do my clients! As I mentioned above, most designers will charge for revisions, even PER revision. But I personally want to make sure that you have the website of your dreams without wracking up the $$$.

As long as the revisions happen within our two-week timeline, the Client can have as many revisions as they want. Revisions beyond two-weeks are subject to my hourly rate or an additional package rate. Please inquire with me for more details.

** Please note that pricing does NOT include Squarespace hosting fees.
